I am a believer in the power of project management.
As a professional project manager for twenty years I have witnessed project success drive business results. I have also proven that project management can change lives and help achieve personal transformation. Now I am sharing some practical tips and techniques that you can use to help achieve your own personal goals, live your best life and become a PM Believer.
Happy Anniversary
One year ago, I had a vision.
For at least twenty years, I had used project management to accomplish goals at work. But, I had started taking my project management skill set for granted. Then I used those same project management skills to achieve a significant personal transformation. This was when I rediscovered my love for project management and its power.
I wanted to help other people fall in love with project management and equip them to use it to accomplish their biggest goals.
This was when PM Believer was born.
My charter: launch a weekly blog series to explore how project management tools and techniques can be applied outside the office.
On National Project Management day, I published my first PM Believer post. Now, on this National Project Management day (yesterday), I am celebrating my fiftieth post. One full year of project management tools, techniques and tips all focused on helping you keep your goals from dying of loneliness.
In the past fifty posts, I have explored a wide range of topics. Starting with the tried and true tools at the core of project management (charter, business case, project plans and more). Then I walked you through a day in the Agile life as I shared some of the core tools from the agile approach to projects. Recently, because project management is both art and science, I have been exploring the art side of the coin with softer project management skills.
Good news: I am not done yet!
Over the coming weeks, I have many new topics to share with you. Even more exciting is that I am not going to be the only one doing the talking. I am going to share some other people’s perspectives on project management too. The first one of the other people I will be featuring is a great American leader.
Spending a year exploring the best parts of my craft has further reinvigorated my love of project management. I hope it has done the same for you. If it has, I would love to hear from you. Have you become a PM Believer?
Are you ready to be a PM Believer?
Happy National Project Management day and happy birthday to PM Believer! One year ago, I set out on a mission to explore the best of project management and how you can use it to accomplish your biggest goals. One year later, I have covered a lot of ground and have some exciting upcoming surprises. Have I helped you become a PM Believer?
