Week 11: Weight loss plateau… that’s a real thing!

Since August 17, my weight has been stuck. I am hovering around the 282-283 mark and fluctuating up and down with no real weight loss. I have done some research and found that this is a condition that happens during weight loss. It has a real name and everything, the “weight loss plateau”.

Essentially, my body has become accustomed to my diet and exercise routine. My metabolism has adjusted and it isn’t having the impact. There are lots of recommendations on how to push past it, but it will require some experimentation.

I am going to try eating some food before my workout to get my metabolism going. Plus, I am going to try to ramp up the intensity a bit.

Ultimately, this plus the soon to be colder weather are going to require me to move my exercise game into a gym instead of my approach of taking it to the streets. Oh well, one problem at a time!

Last week’s stats:
Distance walked: 44.65 miles
Total calories burnt: 31,402
Total calories consumed: 14,420
Weight change: 3.9 pounds lost
