The seasons always change. They don’t have a choice.
Your personal growth? That’s a different story.
Just remember, high-achievers are great at checking boxes.
We’re terrible at pausing to see what we’ve built. I’ll go first.
Hi, I’m Coach Tony. Welcome to the Bonus Mile, my little corner of the internet where we go a step further than usual.
These posts are the extra stuff that doesn’t always fit neatly into my usual routine, but still deserve the spotlight. The Bonus Mile is where the good stuff usually shows up.
It’s time to join me for The Bonus Mile.
Ready for a dad joke?
Before we dive in, here's a groan-worthy dad joke as a little palate cleanser. I promise it will be worth every penny you paid for it. 😂
What sound does a cow make when it runs out of milk?
None. There's udder silence.
The Seasons Are Changing and So Am I… Here’s How
Last weekend was the unofficial start of summer. As the seasons change, we are being rewarded with more sunlight each day and steadily increasing temperatures.
This transition is an excellent reminder that seasons don’t choose to change, but each of us can make that choice. Through our goals, we can decide at any time to build an entirely different life. That’s what I did nine years ago when I chose to start using my goals to live a more intentional life.
As I have said before, one of the challenges we face as high-achievers is that we tend to just keep moving. We check things off our list and move onto the next item without pausing to reflect.
Let’s stop doing that!
I’ll lead the way today.
As Spring draws to a close and the year is more than one-third complete, let’s take a minute to reflect. Here are three ways I sprang forward with my goals in 2026.
My 2026 Goals
If you attended my Say It Out Loud Goal Crusher Coffee Chat, you know that I have three overarching goals for this year.
- Walk My Talk Out Loud: be intentional, real and model my systems.
- Perpetual Motion: push my comfort zone, try new things and elevate & innovate.
- Be Authentic, Be Connected: cultivate my tribe, be unapologetically unfiltered, joyful and weird.
I have a lot of individual goals on my list for this year, but they all fit within the guardrails of these three big goals.
Here are examples of how each of these goals has sprung forward so far this year.
Perpetual Motion
So far in 2026, I have lived my life in perpetual motion in many ways, including creativity, connection, career, and more. Nowhere has this been more pronounced than in my fitness routine.
I hadn’t run a half marathon since 2023, and that wasn’t the most pleasant experience ever.
This year, I decided I wanted to return to half marathon running. Bigger than that, I decided I wanted to have an epic experience that was far outside my comfort zone. So, I created something I called “Epic Week.”
I ran a half marathon with my strongest ever performance.
But I also ran a 5k and a 10k in the same week.
Plus, while training for Epic Week, I completed my longest ever run. A run where I pushed myself to my absolute physical limit.
This experience was something that really mattered to me. I proved something to myself. And I am very proud that I did it.
But I’m not stopping there and expect some more epic experiences as this year continues.
Be Authentic, Be Connected
Being authentic and connected has been a significant priority for me so far this year.
I have previously shared that my overall life purpose statement is that I create tools, stories, and experiences that help people. Said differently, I help people achieve important shit.
One way I have leaned into my purpose through connection this year is by evolving my Operation Melt strategy. My strategy has become community-first, where I provide events, tools, and experiences that help people, regardless of whether they are or will ever become clients.
My purpose is to help people, and that’s what I am doing. That is me being authentic by being connected and by being a servant leader.
If that sounds like your kind of community, I would be honored to have you join us. Start at OperationMelt.com/Start.
Walk My Talk Out Loud
Finally, we come to the goal that you get to see the most. A goal that isn’t new.
I am fully walking my talk out loud.
I continue to show up through my blog, my events, and social media every day. I live my goal-crushing life out loud and take you along with me.
It probably goes without saying, but I follow my Project Manage Your Life system and process every day as I pursue my own goals. I am proud that I never suggest my clients do anything that I am not doing myself.
Today’s Bonus Mile post is the perfect example of me pulling back the curtain and inviting you into my goal-crushing experience. That’s something I don’t plan on walking away from any time soon.
Your Turn
You’ve seen how my goals have sprung forward so far this year. Now I invite you to do the same thing.
What are your proudest moments from the first third of this year?
Where might you have fallen a little short of your plan?
Spend a few minutes reflecting on your progress and drop me a quick note to help celebrate. I’m excited to celebrate with you.
Are You Chasing the Right Things?
My three big goals for this year are all connected to my unique life purpose and mission. But that wasn’t always the case.
There have definitely been times in my life when I have found myself working hard for someone else’s dream, not my own.
I can tell you firsthand that one of the most exhausting experiences for a high-achiever is when you pour your heart and soul into something that doesn’t light you up at your core. I want to help you fix that.
That’s what we will do at our next Goal Crusher Coffee Chat.
Chasing the Wrong Thing
Are you working hard for someone else’s dream?
In this session, I will open up my Coach’s Notebook and share the signs you’re chasing someone else’s goals and how to shift your focus back to your own.
Then, during our roundtable, we will each answer one simple question:
What’s one thing you could put on the back burner so you can make room for what really matters to you?
If you’re ready for your goals to feel like yours, not everyone else’s, this event is for you.

The seasons are changing, are you? Over one-third of 2026 is already in the books. I sprang forward with my goals this year by pushing my physical limits during Epic Week, going all-in on a community-first strategy that puts helping people ahead of everything else, and continuing to live and lead out loud every single day. These goals matter to me because they are mine. Yours should feel the same way.
You’re here for a reason. Let’s take the next step.
