Operation Melt Anniversary

Thank you for reading this week’s Operation Melt update.

Operation Melt started as a blog to share my personal transformation and weight loss story. After achieving success with that goal, Operation Melt has evolved into a platform to help inspire, motivate and equip people to achieve their own personal and professional goals so they can live their best lives.

I am trying to build a world where no goal ever dies of loneliness.

Happy Anniversary!

This week is the 3rd anniversary of launching the OperationMelt.com blog. On 12/14/2017, I was six months into my weight loss project and was already 75 pounds down. This is when I officially launched Operation Melt to the public.

Along the course of my journey, a lot of people were seeking me out for advice. They wanted to know how I was being so successful. They used me as inspiration for their own journeys.

My wonderful wife Liz witnessed this happening over and over again and pointed it out. It was her idea, three months earlier, that I start a blog to tell my story. I loved the suggestion and I spent three months creating initial content, the name (which came pretty easily because people kept saying “you are just melting away”), establishing the site care of a good friend of mine, learning WordPress and designing the initial site.

Then, on 12/14/2017, voila…

Telling My Story

I didn’t have a crystal clear vision for Operation Melt when I started. I didn’t begin with the end in mind. But there were some things I did know…

  • I knew I had a compelling transformation story and I wanted to share it.
  • I knew my body was quickly changing and my brain was working hard to keep up. I wanted to share some of these lesser discussed aspects of transformation.
  • Most of all, I wanted to help other people achieve their goals.

These are the things that led me to start this journey with you and just some of the many things that keep me going today and into the future.

Labor of Love

Since launching Operation Melt I have worked hard to continue delivering impactful content to my followers.

I started by sharing my journey. I shared my journey to get fit. I have continued sharing my ongoing journey to live a healthy, fit, productive and happy life. This includes living the past two years after my weight loss in maintenance mode. I have shared some of my happiest and proudest moments as well as some of my biggest setbacks, frustrations and confusing moments. I have been honest, real, vulnerable and never sugar-coated my experiences.

I have explored the bigger life lessons that can be learned from getting fit through my Fitness Lessons are Life Lessons series.

I launched PM Believer to continue sharing how to apply project management techniques to help change your life.

I have published more than 300 blog posts. I have shared more than 2000 social media posts. Oh yeah, and I wrote a book too!

I have spent many hours working on this labor of love. All dedicated to pursuing my vision of building a world where no goal dies of loneliness.

Christmas Break

Now that the holidays are upon us, it is time for a little break. You know that I am a huge advocate for rest and recovery and that is what I am going to do.

This is my last post for 2020. Well, kind of… I still have weekly PM Believer posts scheduled that will be shared every Friday including Christmas day! I will still share some things on social media, especially Instagram. But I am not going to actively write and share anything new until the new year.

Join me again on January 3rd as I share my inaugural post of 2021. I will share a brief year-in-review and my goals for 2021. Just a little teaser, I am taking a very different approach for 2021 goals to help me make more peace with the world around me.

In the meantime, I wish you all a very merry Christmas, happy holidays and the happiest of new years. I am grateful for every one of you who take the time to read my thoughts and enjoy my art. I have some fun new ideas cooking for 2021 and believe it will mean the best year yet for Operation Melt!
